The Ulna & Radius Locking Plate is a high-performance internal fixation implant designed to stabilize diaphyseal and metaphyseal fractures of the forearm. Tailored specifically for the ulna and radius shaft, this plate delivers an optimal blend of strength, anatomical conformity, and biomechanical efficiency.
Design & Dimensions
This plate is engineered with a thickness of 3.2 mm and a width of 11 mm, providing robust fixation while maintaining a low-profile interface to minimize soft tissue interference.
- Hole Configurations: 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, and 12 holes
- Lengths: 92 mm (6 holes) to 170 mm (12 holes)
- Threaded combination holes allow use of both locking and cortical screws
The anatomical shape of the plate aligns with the natural curvature of the forearm bones, reducing the need for intraoperative contouring and improving fitment in both proximal and distal shaft fractures.
Material & Compliance
Fabricated from two optional biocompatible materials:
- Stainless Steel AISI 316L – ISO 5832-1 compliant
- Ti-6Al-4V ELI Titanium Alloy – ISO 5832-3 compliant
Each plate is electropolished and passivated for surface smoothness, reducing bacterial adhesion and enhancing corrosion resistance. Titanium variants may include color anodization for easier intraoperative identification.
Clinical Applications
Indicated for:
- Shaft fractures of the radius and ulna
- Segmental fractures and bone lengthening procedures
- Fixation in patients with osteoporotic bone
- Use in both primary and revision forearm surgeries
Instrumentation Compatibility
Compatible with standard 3.5 mm locking and cortical screw sets. Surgeons can employ hybrid fixation strategies using:
- 3.5 mm Locking Screws
- 3.5 mm Cortical Screws
- AO-style drill guides and instrumentation
Certification & Quality Assurance
All plates are produced in ISO 13485-certified manufacturing facilities and carry the CE mark for use in regulated global markets. Lot traceability and material certification available upon request.
